A sales page is essential if you want to be able to generate profit online. What are the magical factors that turn ordinary visitors into paying customers? There are many elements that go into a successful sales page, and if you want to generate thousands of dollars in online money making profits, you’ll need to master them.
The purpose of a sales page is to convince visitors to buy your product. To that effect, you should use just about every trick in the book to explain to your readers how your product is going to change their lives for the better and make things easier for them to handle. Your sales page needs to build a relationship with your readers, and set up your product as a trustworthy, efficient, and quality solution to their problems.
So what does a quality sales page have? What is the secret to amazing conversion? Let me share with you some essential elements for the perfect sales page:
Attention Grabbing Calls-to-Action: You need to tell your visitors what to do, or they’re going to leave your website. Make sure you tell your visitors that “by signing up, you can make $560.90 today!” or that “ordering this DVD will change your life!” Calls to action will make your visitors convert to customers and have your sales skyrocketing.
Video: Your sales page should have a video attached explaining who you are, what the product is, how the product works, why your customers should buy it, and a small introduction of how to use it to make their lives easier. People love video content, and seeing a product in action really increases confidence in it. As well, if you appear personally in your video, people will be more willing to trust your personal brand and buy from you.
Testimonials: While the credulity of testimonials is subject, they are still a powerful tool for marketing and conversion. People like to know what others have to say about a product, and testimonials serve as a kind of ‘mini-review’ for how well your product works. Word-of-mouth is the number one marketing tool, and testimonials put that tool into your hands.
Clean, Branded Design: The design is the first thing people will see when they visit a website, and if yours is generic, boring, or just plain unattractive, nobody will want to buy from you. Investing in a design that highlights the qualities of your product and draws the readers’ eyes to essential parts of the page (the buy button perhaps?) will increase your sales tenfold!
Personal Endorsement: If you don’t stand by your own product, who will? A personal endorsement for your product is essential if you want to have a high conversion rate. Letting your potential customers know that your product is “tried and true” will have them begging to give it a test run for themselves. Show your customers that you know for a fact the results that your product can give.
Specifics: People are more likely to buy a product that has earned other customers $456.89, $508.34, and $493.90 than a product that earns “hundreds” of dollars. Using precise numbers will make your potential customers trust in the value of what you’re trying to sell them. It’s simple human nature – numbers are comforting. That’s why you like to know when there’s an 80% chance of rain.
Obviously, all of these elements must be combined neatly and in tandem to create a killer sales page. Without proper organization, emphasis, and quality, your sales page will be useless. Nevertheless, all of these elements are essential if you want a sales page that converts your visitors into paying customers and makes you big profits.

Cool tips.
Personally one of the things I look for when visiting sales pages is a video. If there isn’t a video, I simply feel I can’t really trust the rest of the sales page as a lot of testimonials are faked nowadays.

Yes I agree.
It is best to put testimonials from popular people so not only do people get confidence but also know that it is real.
Yeah, that’s a very good point. If you can get some people with authority in your niche to review your product, that in itself should get you a good number of sales

Yes, the trust factor is very important.
Awesome post! I personally find that the design is the most important part to consider. When I see an unattractive design, I think “unprofessional” or “scammy” and I turn away. I think mini sites are really coming to realize that design matters for a single page as well.

Yes, the design plays a very important role.
I agree with Corey – design is extremely important. You have to wrap your content in a way that draws people in. I think the calls-to-action are also essential if you want to get someone to buy something from you.
Call-to-action graphics sure help

Great! I’m actually planning to sell an ebook within the month. I’m learning a lot of marketing skills right now, extensive list if you’re starting from zero. Good thing blogging gave me a good background. As an addition to your post, it’s also good strategy to build a PREsell page.
